The Department of Orthopedic Dentistry was established in October 1996 according to the decision of the Academic Council of the National Medical University. MI Pirogov and is located on the street. Blok, 34. The educational base of the department includes: 9 educational clinical halls for 16 dental units, training rooms for conducting seminars, 2 training rooms for conducting orthopedic dentistry, equipped with modern requirements dental and foundry laboratories, sterilization laboratories, sterilization laboratories for administrative and business needs of staff. The first head of the department from 1996 to 2017 was the candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Muntyan Leonid Maksimovich.
Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry - Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Dental Doctor Eduard Belyaev. In 2007 Belyaev EV defended his PhD thesis on the topic "Anthropo-genetic factors of caries in practically healthy urban boys and girls of Podilskyi region of Ukraine". In 2016, a doctoral dissertation on the topic "Anatomy - topographic and functional features of diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of secondary deformations of the dento-mandibular system" is planned.
12 training phantoms of domestic production and 2 phantoms of the Kavo company (Germany) are used for the development of manual skills according to the work program and preparation of students for the complex professional-oriented state examination in orthopedic dentistry.
In 2013, equipment was purchased and an office for radiovisiographic research of dental patients was organized, with the possibility of exporting a radiovisiographic image on a local computer network. A dental unit equipped with an intraoral camera was purchased.
 In addition to its own clinical base, dental institutions are used for practical training in orthopedic dentistry: "Vinnytsia City Clinical Dental Center", "Vinnytsia Regional Specialized Clinical Dispensary for Radiation Protection", "Dental Office" str. Kielets'ka 78, "Dental office" ул. Kropyvnytskyi 6/8.

    The Department of Orthopedic Dentistry was established in October 1996 according to the decision of the Academic Council of National Pirogov Memorial Medical University and is located in Blok street, 34.

The educational base of the department includes: 9 educational clinical halls with 16 dental units, clinical class rooms for conducting seminars, 2 training rooms for propedeutics orthopedic dentistry, equipped with modern requirements dental and foundry laboratories, sterilization laboratories for administrative and business needs of staff.

   The first head of the department from 1996 to 2017 was the PhD, associate professor Leonid Muntyan. In September 1996, he was appointed, and in November 1997 he was selected for the post of Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, Vinnytsia State Pirogov Memorial Medical Institute (now -  National Pirogov Memorial Medical University) at the newly created Dental Faculty. Main directions of medical and scientific activity Leonid Muntyan were devoted to the development of technological processes and methods of orthopedic treatment of patients with disorders of occlusive relationships; approbation and introduction of biomaterials used in the manufacture of implants and orthopedic superstructures; scientific substantiation and rational treatment of patients with orthopedic structures on solid casts and without metal frames. Leonid Muntyan was the author of 168 scientific and educational publications, including 2 textbooks, 4 monographs and a manual on the organization of orthopedic dentistry, 4 copyright certificates and 10 patents of Ukraine. He has trained 2 PhD, 18 Clinical Residents (14 of whom are foreign nationals), 6 Masters of Medicine in the specialty "Orthopedic Dentistry". He completed his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences on the topic: "Theoretical substantiation and determination of clinical effectiveness of the treatment of patients with dentures with a combined fixation system". Supervised the preparation of 4 PhD candidates. 

Internshiped in Switzerland and Poland. Leonid Muntyan was a doctor of the highest category, an experienced teacher, known among the teaching staff of medical universities in Ukraine. He has repeatedly been a member of the working committees for the development and implementation of educational programs in the specialty "Dentistry". For many years of conscientious work, considerable personal contribution to the development of the health care system, high professionalism and active public position, L. Muntyan was repeatedly awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, regional state administrations, Lviv and Vinnytsia National Medical Universities. Leonid Muntyan left behind a large number of followers, students and like-minded people.

    From 2017 to the present time the department is headed by PhD, Associate Professor Eduard Belyaev. He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Dental Medicine of Vinnitsa State Medical University. E. Pirogov in 1999. After passing in-depth specialization as a doctor - intern at the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, VNMU from 1999 to 2000, he worked at the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry at the VNMU as a Senior Laboratory Assistant. From 2000 to 2002 he worked as an assistant - trainee of the same department. From 2002 to 2011 he worked as an assistant at the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, Vinnytsia National Medical University. From October 2011 to May 2017 he worked as an Assistant Professor of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry.

    Belyaev EV is a doctor of the highest qualification category. He is engaged in medical work at the clinical bases of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, VNMU. Regularly improves its qualification level and applies the latest technologies in the diagnostic and therapeutic process. He has many types of specialized care for patients with orthopedic pathology. He regularly publishes scientific papers in various medical journals. He has 45 publications in professional journals and collections, 3 of which are patents for invention. Involves students in scientific work, manages the preparation of graduate students and clinical residencies.

E.V. Belyayev graduated with honors from the Dental Faculty of Vinnytsia State Medical University. M.I. Pirogov in 1999.
After undergoing in-depth specialization as an intern at the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry of VNMU from 1999 to 2000 he worked at the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry of VNMU as a senior laboratory assistant. From 2000 to 2002 he worked as an assistant – an intern of the same department. From 2002 to 2011 he worked as an assistant of the department of dental orthopedics of Vinnytsia National Medical University. From October 2011 to May 2017 he worked as an associate professor of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry. Since May 2017 - Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry.
Belyaev E.V. is a doctor of the highest qualification category. Medical work is carried out on the clinical bases of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of VNMU. Regularly increases its qualification level and applies the latest technologies in the diagnostic and medical process. Komnatskyi Bohdan Yuriyovych

Graduated with honors in 2009 from Vinnytsia National Medical University. M.I. Pirogov majoring in dentistry, in 2011 received the second higher education in the specialty of pharmacy. Since September 2009 he worked as a senior laboratory assistant of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry. From 2010 to 2012 – assistant trainee and senior part-time laboratory assistant. Since April 2012 he has been enrolled as an assistant of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry. In 2012 he was trained in specialization courses of the Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy, and the Attestation Commission at the Higher State Educational Institution of Ukraine "Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy" was awarded the title of doctor-specialist in the specialty "Orthopedic Dentistry". In 2015, at a meeting of the Specialized Academic Council D.35.600.01 at Danylo Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine defended his thesis "Justification for providing local anesthesia in outpatient treatment of dental diseases combined with diabetes mellitus" for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences in the specialty 14.01.22 In 2016 by the decision of the Academic Council of VNMU them. M.I. Pirogov was elected to the post of associate professor of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. During his work he showed himself to be an experienced teacher, a competent doctor. In 2011 she was trained in specialization courses of the Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy, and the attestation commission at the Higher State Educational Institution of Ukraine "Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy" was awarded the title of doctor-specialist in the specialty "Orthopedic Dentistry". In October 2015, at a meeting of the Specialized Academic Council D 26.003.06 at the Bogomolets National Medical University, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine defended her dissertation on the topic: "Morphological features of the dental arc and odonthopedic indicators in adolescents with an orthognathic bite depending on the shape of the head and type of face" for the degree of candidate of medical sciences. In 2016 by the decision of the Academic Council of VNMU them. M.I. Pirogov was elected to the post of associate professor of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. Also in 2016, the MIC in the specialty "Orthopedic Dentistry" was held at the Higher State Educational Institution of Ukraine "Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy". He defended his PhD thesis on the topic: " Treatment of patients with complete loss of teeth with removable plate prostheses with shock absorbent properties" in 2015. During the period of work at VNMU published 20 scientific papers, received 3 declaration patents. The practical significance of the achievements was confirmed by 2 industry innovations and their inclusion in the register of industry innovations of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

In 2007 she graduated with honors from Vinnitsa State Pedagogical University named after Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky and received complete higher education in the specialty "Pedagogics and methods of secondary education. Conducts practical classes and lectures on prosthetic dentistry, orthopedic dentistry and dental implantology for English-speaking students 2, 3, 4, 5 courses of the Faculty of Dentistry. Science activity

 

The main direction of scientific activity of the department is the study and development of new and improvement of existing diagnostic methods, protocols for the comprehensive treatment and prevention of patients with pathology of the dentofacial system.
Employees of the department conduct laboratory, cytometric, histological, microbiological, biochemical and clinical research methods.
Over the past years, the department’s employees have received 8 declarative patents for a utility model, one patent for an invention, 2 copyright certificates for a work, more than 200 scientific papers have been published.
Now the department is doing one doctoral and 4 candidate dissertations. 7 candidate dissertations were successfully defended.
