History

The beginning of the history of the Department of Phthisiology in Vinnitsa medical Institute. M. I. Pirogov can be considered in 1954, when the teachers of the Department of faculty therapy under the guidance of the prominent Russian physician Professor B. S. Shklyar and Professor – student V. P. Obraztsov, V. A. Safin began to read lectures and conduct practical lessons in Phthisiology. In the same year the Department was created a separate assistant for the course of tuberculosis and allocated 14 hours of practical training in the 4th year of the medical faculty. Since 1957, was allocated the position of associate Professor at the Department of faculty therapy and additionally an assistant for teaching the course of Phthisiology.

Since 1969, staff of assistants is greatly increased, and from 1971 – creates the actual Department of Phthisiology. Its founder in Vinnitsa medical Institute. M. I. Pirogov was a Professor (later Professor) Boris Abramovich Berezovsky. It was on his initiative the course of Phthisiology of the Department of hospital therapy became an independent Department, which included 10 people, including professors, associate professors, 5 assistants, clinical clinical physician and two laboratory technicians. Phthisiology were laid in the 4th year of medical, pediatric 5 course and 6 course of medical and pediatric departments in the amount of 120 hours. Clinical base of the Department was then Vinnytsia oblast and city antitubercular dispensaries, located in a picturesque district of Odessa – p'yatnychany. The regional center at that time was chaired by S. A. Markov (later – the candidate of medical science and honored doctor of Ukraine), city – V. T. Satuk.

Since the founding of the Department here worked associate Professor (later Professor)..Berezovsky, assistant Professor (then associate Professor) Vitaly V. Marchak. After the creation of the Department began to work as assistant (then associate Professor) Ivan Osicki , assistant Professor (associate Professor) Vladimir S. Golan, assistant Isabella Ivanovna Popova, assistant Professor Vladimir Wasylyk, assistant Professor Vladimir G. Goncharov. Later they were joined by assistant (Professor) George G., Zakopala. In 1979, the Department was joined to the course of Phthisiology of the faculty of improvement of doctors, headed by associate Professor V. S. Golan, and in 1992 the Department was created in the course of clinical immunology and Allergology.

In the course of Phthisiology of the doctors improvement faculty in the contest was at first credited as an assistant (then associate Professor) Vladimir Alexandrovich Kucher, assistant (later became Professor, and in 1992 - head of the Department of Phthisiology) Boris Mikhailovich Chubby, assistant (later became Professor and head of the Department of propedeutics of internal diseases) Yuri Mikhailovich Bridge, later as an assistant (then became a Professor) were enrolled Raisa Urdu Salabi, assistant Lyudmila Vladimirovna Micaiah. In 1988 in connection with the expansion of the teaching of tuberculosis in the state Department at the assistant rank Sergey V. Zaikova, who later became a lecturer and then a Professor.

Since 1992, in connection with the organization of the course of clinical immunology and Allergy, the staff of the Department are enrolled Olga Bronislavovna Bondarchuk, Irina Vladimirovna Koritko, Lyudmila G. Kulik, Alexander Petrovich Disagreement (now all of them are associate professors). For several times in addition to these scholars and teachers in the Department worked effectively Angela A. Zaikova, Pavel Ostapchuk, Ina V. bereziuk Svetlana V. Lanova, Lydia N. Kirichenko,Svetlana Kulas ( became candidates of medical Sciences ), laboratiories librarian Kotlyar, Tatiana Kozlovskaya, work senior laboratory assistant Olga Ludvika Bobelo, laboratory assistant Oksana, Malonic and other highly qualified scientists, doctors and technicians. In 1955, based in Vinnitsa regional Association of TB specialists, the Chairman of which for many years was Professor of B. A. Berezovsky. Since 1992, Vinnytsia doctors and scientists in the field of Phthisiology, pulmonology, immunology and Allergology has been integrated into the relevant Association – APPA (the first head was prof.M.The man, later chief physician of obltubdispanser I. M. Gorbatyuk).

Social work
To a large extent by the efforts of the team of the Department was held a Congress of psychiatrists of Ukraine (1981), all-Union conference on Allergology (1985) and a Republican in pulmonology (1992), a number of all-Union and Republican forums, where they were singing the organizers. During the years of independence the employees of the Department were also held the first Congress of phthisiologists and pulmonologists of Ukraine (1993), and 3 of the Congress of allergologists of Ukraine, a number of scientific and practical conferences on Allergy (more than 10, and in the winery they become traditional).
 A joint initiative of the Department and of the Institute of Phthisiology and pulmonology of AMS of Ukraine with the support of obltubdispanser in Vinnytsia was founded "Ukrainian journal of pulmonology" (editor – Acad. Academy of medical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Y. I. Feshchenko (Kiev), Vice – Professor.M.Pukhlikov). At the initiative of our Department and the Ukrainian society of immunology and Allergology (Chairman – Professor G. M. Drank) in Vinnytsia was founded the journal "Immunology and Allergology". Prof.. .M.Man is involved in publishing of magazines "Asthma and allergies", "Otolaryngology", "Allergology, immunology, sectology", part of their editorial Board. Department staff are actively cooperating with leading scientific and medical publications in Ukraine ( newspaper "Your health", "news of medicine and pharmacy", etc).
The contribution of the staff of the Department of international relations was the organization of an international conference prism aceno the memory of an outstanding native of Ukraine, Nobel Laureate Selman Abraham Waksman, who discovered the first antituberculosis drug streptomycin, retained in the world the lives of millions of people. This conference was attended by his son Professor Byron Waksman, the great-grandson of the laureate, renowned scientists from the United States. In the birth city of Nobel Laureate (Nova pryluka village, Lypovets'kyi district) was established memorial stele.
Professor chubby Boris is the founder and President of the Association of allergologists of Ukraine. In 2014, the candidate of med.Sciences, associate Professor A. E. Bogomolov was elected Executive Secretary of the Association of allergologists of Ukraine.
Educational work
The Department uses its own texts of lectures in Phthisiology (they are in the form of a Handbook issued in 1994, 1996, 2000, 2004) focused on students ' own "Quick start guide pulmonology", "guide to the differential diagnosis of respiratory diseases" and numerous monographs, textbooks and the like, reprinted materials, original learning-controlling a computer"outername program, situational tasks, business games and numerous tables, slides. In 2004 he published the first in Ukraine textbook for University students "Allergology", which filled the gap in this area of medical education.
The Department practically for the first time in the Republic began teaching clinical immunology and alergology, which was created the original training program, organized clinics, laboratories, published "a practical Guide to immunodiagnostics and immunotherapy". Experience that was acquired during the Soviet era, when prof...M.Chubby together with Russian scientists were the first programs in Allergy-immunology for Universities of the USSR.
The course of Phthisiology FUL (1987 headed by its associate Professor..Kucher) is improving the skills of TB doctors of Ukraine, and also conducts courses of thematic improvement for physicians of the General medical network on the issues of pulmonology and tuberculosis, including in field conditions. He holds certification cycles, preparing interns.. Accnout doctors contribute to numerous divisions and offices to obludzyner, training and controlling computer program, after mastering which are issued attestation certificates of the corresponding category.
It's difficult to count the number of students, doctors, researchers who have gained knowledge in the Department. Roughly, there were more than 30 thousand students, over 2,500 TB specialists from 22 regions of Ukraine, up to 30 graduate students, 10 clinical residents. Read up to 6000 lectures, held more than 40,000 hours of practical training, were consulted in the floor”a million and treated more than 30 thousand patients, performed to thousands of airlift missions performed about a thousand operations and more.
Cooperation with healthcare institutions
In addition to direct work on clinical bases of the Department staff carried out visits to the districts for conferences, serviced calls for air ambulance. Professor Would.M.Man, since 2005 serves as the chief freelance specialist MOH of Ukraine.
Members of the Department worked in Somalia, Zambia, Algeria, Afghanistan, participated in international forums (Italy, Spain, Poland, UK, USA, Belgium, Sweden, France, Switzerland), 4 scientific expeditions in Siberia, Khakassia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, he studied in the United States .
Achievements of the Department
For the first time in the world:
1. Opening allergological study in protivotuberkuleznoe institution (1980).
2. The creation and manufacture of portable Express analyzer allergic reactions (1995), and later modifications – ITA-5 AND-6.
3. Together with Vinnitsa, OOO "Immunologist" creating technology for screening of allergic diseases and the original set for their screening (2002).
4. Together with Vinnitsa, OOO "Immunologist" the creation of the original CD-lancets for prick test two versions (2003, 2008).
5. Together with Vinnitsa, OOO "Immunologist" create a kit for the diagnosis of drug Allergy and the technology of early detection (2002).
6. Together with Vinnitsa, OOO "Immunologist" the creation of an original oral pills for specific immunotherapy with the content of different groups of allergens (household, pollen, 2002, 2004).
For the first time in the country:
1. Early detection of TB among the rural population by the method of household walkovers (1980).
2. The dynamic clinico-epidemiological study of the spread of allergic diseases in population-based scale (1981-1992, surveyed more than 100 thousand people).
3. The definition of L forms of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (1983).
4.Twin studies in the field of pneumology, Allergology (1981-1985), together with prof.And.Kogan, F. Professor Of.Savransky, Professor Yu. M. Bridge.
5. The establishment of a course of clinical immunology and Allergology for students (1992) and immunological centre (1992).
6. The implementation of the method of specific immunotherapy in allergic diseases patients with tuberculosis (1981-1984).
7. Implementation of methods monotremes, chemiluminometer for the diagnosis of exudative pleurisy, meningitis (1984), also in the diagnosis hypercholest (1981-1993).
8.Vnutrishnioho laser therapy for active tubercules lung using ultra-violet and helium-neon laser (1988).
9.The creation and production of diagnostic and therapeutic allergens (1994-2005).
10. The creation of the domestic forms of treatment of allergic diseases (2008).
